Often when a student understands the need for a problem in a story their completed work will still not be successful. Star, asterisk, or other doo-dad at the margin: It might be a small relayed detail in the way they walk that reveals a core characteristic.
If your reader writes even once a week and comes back for more, you know you have accomplished your beginning goals. It was basically a hit job on Outside Viewing.
But go too far with this kind of logic, and you start accidentally proving that nothing can be bad anywhere. And that is exactly what reading a book should be: The Bad Writing Contest attempts to locate the ugliest, most stylistically awful passage found in a scholarly book or article published in the last few years.

Don't be intimidated by famous authors -- many have written mediocre books. Ask for reviews from friends and influencers before the launch. We can take this beyond money-making into any competitive or potentially-competitive field.
For any clearly visible opportunity to get a sufficiently large number of citations with a small enough amount of work, there are collectively enough academics in this field that somebody will snap up the opportunity. If the world was created by the Invisible Hand, who is good, how did it come to contain so much that is evil?
He is no weakling- but his fencing skills are hardly of any use while his anger is misdirected. If the student has created a well-drawn and believable character that the reader can identify with and feel for then the climax will be more powerful.
Have your child tell stories like those you have told. Be sure to award such efforts with delighted enthusiasm. But none of them could take the next step and agree they were delusional too.
People love finding books on Goodreads —a lot more people than you think.
